Question 1. What was your most memorable weather event?

My most memorable weather event would be when Hurricane Charley moved through Central Florida in 2004. I was starting 8th grade and remember being very involved with tracking the storm and watching the meteorologists on tv. It was a powerful hurricane even when it came through Orlando with winds near 100 mph. I remember listening to the strong winds and heavy rain at night when the worst of the storm hit. Seeing the destruction that Charley left at my house and neighborhood was very eye-opening and memorable.

Question 2. What is your favourite and least favourite type of weather?

My favorite type of weather is sunny and cool. I really enjoy the combination of cool air and the warmth of the sun. A perfect day for me would be sunny skies and temperatures in the 50s. My least favorite type of weather is hot and humid. Even though I got used to the warm and sticky summers growing up in Florida, it was still unpleasant for me at times!

Question 3. If you weren’t a meteorologist what would you most like to be?

If I wasn’t a meteorologist, I would most likely have gone into a sports career. Outside of the weather, sports are a big passion of mine. I would likely have gone into sports management, sports marketing, or sports reporting.

Question 4. From a purely meteorological point of view, where would you most like to live?

From a meteorological point of view, I would definitely need to live in an area that has the potential to experience all 4 seasons. Denver, Colorado would be one of the top choices for me.

Question 5. Is there anything else you’d like to share?

Ever since I was young I’ve had a passion for the weather. I was in college when I first thought about pursuing a career in the television industry, and I’m so glad that I did! I know that this is the place for me because I enjoy what I do and I’m always learning more about the weather. It’s been a challenge and pleasure to travel around the country, working my way up in the business from one station to the next. I’ve only been a broadcast meteorologist for 2 and a half years, but it’s already been so rewarding and I look forward to what lies ahead for me in the future!
